IGNATOV & COMPANY is a group of consultants and market researchers providing world-class service for international clients since 1998, with special emphasis on the transitive economies in Central & Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Western Asia. Our well-trained team of consultants, researchers, and analysts has gained special knowledge and good experience in market research, business and engineering consulting, company intelligence, foresight and similar services for various kinds of clients. Established with a group of the Russian former governmental analysts at September 1998 our company became a recognizable international player less than in 10 years. Our multinational team of 82 full-time employees as well as over 260 freelancers successfully work in 30 offices worldwide covering 50 countries in 4 continents.

Transitive economies of our days are very attractive and potentially very lucrative for world business – but, at the same time, they can be perceived as very unstable and even unintelligible for global investors. In order to make sense of it all, it is very important to possess deep understanding as well as factual information about the markets, specifically related to their resources, people, authorities, culture, regions, and branches of economy, to name a few.

Here is how our president and founder, Mr. Alexander Ignatov, has described the company's mission and goals:

"In 1998 - when we were starting our operation in market research and consulting - I asked myself a question on how to define the key sense of this kind of activity. The answer has come from an unexpected source, as is often the case. I was re-reading Frank Herbert’s Dune saga that is an excellent manual for any person charged with responsibility and accountability - from managers to state leaders. To wit, in one of the passages in Dune there is a pearl of wisdom that is especially apropos for this introduction - the growth of any system is limited by the factors that are in minimum or, in other words, the least congenial feature defines the rate of growth. So it became clear for me why many global businesspeople have lost their investments in Russia and other emerging countries. Seemingly, they possessed many of the requirements for a successful global investment business plan - money, experience, and new technologies. Relevant information about the local business environment, however, was sorely lacking. This type of information had become the least developed part of foreign investment business plans in the area and was a significant factor in many failed or underperforming international business investments in this region. Therefore, the role of market knowledge could be specified as a method of making information the instrument for stable business development.

Ancient Chinese military theorist Sun Tzu said: "Know the enemy and yourself, and your victory will never be in danger. Know the ground and the weather, and your victory is certain". In the XXI century world of business parlance, it means that every successful executive must possess maximum information on his own business as well as on his competitors' business. Sun Tzu’s words - "ground" and "weather" - are analogous to their current counterparts - "environment" and "weather" - respectively. The (1) environment of a company (2) as well as the significant trends in modern development, or weather in which it operates, provide an accurate glimpse of the true situation".

Providing the outsider the information he/she needs, accurately and rapidly, is our business - this is where we come. Our specialty is conducting a multitude of in-depth tasks in:

Chances are if you seek any information on specific companies, markets or regions, you will be able to locate it easily in our Emerging Markets Information Store. The Store provides numerous off-the-shelf information products such as Market Reports, Company Reports, Personality Reports, Digital Maps, etc.
